July 15

  • 38th Annual GLWC Art Fair -
    Take a drive to beautiful Glen Arbor and visit the Glen Arbor Town Hall on Wednesday, July 15th from 10am-4pm to experience the extremely popular 38th Annual Glen Lake Women's Club Art Fair. Over 95 exhibitors. Proceeds used for scholarships.

July 16

  • 27th Annual Garden Walk
    The Friendly Garden Club of Traverse City presents its 27th Annual Garden Walk on Thursday, July 16th from 12:00pm to 8:00pm, rain or shine. Tickets are available in May from the Traverse City Visitor Center (pre-sale cost $6, day of the walk $8) as well as from most sponsors and garden club members. Children 16 years and under are free, no pets please.

July 17

  • Crescent Wood Gatherings
    8:00 PM There is a brand new amphitheater in Traverse City. It was added last year by Unity Church of Traverse City. Terry Wooten of Stone Circle fame will be spending Friday nights all summer with his wealth of poetry and stories told over a fire. The new amphitheater and a labyrinth are behind Unity Church, just south of Holiday Hills Road. There will be plenty of stone slabs to sit on but people may want to bring their own blankets or lawn chairs. Concessions will be available throughout the evening. There is a suggested donation of $5 for adults and $2 for children. Unity Church is located at 3600 Five Mile Road. For further information contact (231) 938-9587 or (231) 943-9198.

  • Alden's Annual Wine & Berry Tasting
    "Hops & Berries" will be held on the shores of Torch Lake 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Local vineyards & breweries offer tasting at the Alden Depot Park on the south end of town accompanied by live Jazz and a silent auction. Sponsored by the Downtown Alden Business Association.   • Stargazing - Public Viewing 9pm to 11pm NMC's Rogers Observatory. Souvenirs like a "star finder" map of the sky will be available. The Northwestern Michigan College Rogers Observatory is located at 1753 Birmley Road in Traverse City

July 18

  • 2009 Inland Seas Summer Festival
    Celebration of the Great Lakes. 10:00am - 4:00pm on the waterfront at the Inland Seas Education Center on the Suttons Bay waterfront. Providing live music throughout the day will be Traverse City-based and world-renowed "Song of the Lakes." The day long festival will also feature music by "Wild Sullys" playing their special brand of Irish revoluntionary tunes. Displays and activities will be provided by numerous Great Lakes organizations. Boats on Display and Boats on the Water, a variety of food booths, Annual Raffle to Feature Hand-Made Abenaki Canoe and All day activities for the entire family include wetland walks, fish painting, storytelling, and more.

  • 17th annual "Art Leelanau"
    The Leelanau Community Cultural Center's 17th annual "Art Leelanau" will be held on July 24-29th, at the Old Art Building in Leland. The opening gala will be on Friday, July 24th from 5 - 8pm, featuring the work of 100 Leelanau artists, the live music of the John Lindenau Quartet, a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Call (231) 256-2131 to reserve tickets. The art exhibit will continue through Wednesday, July 29th from 10am-5pm (Sunday 12 - 4pm) at the Old Art Building located at 111 South Main Street in Leland

July 25

  • Suttons Bay Blues Festival
    Noon to 9:00 PM. Featuring Leelanau's finest foods, wines, brews & ciders. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. No coolers, strollers or dogs. Blankets and lawn chairs welcomed.
